[Tango] Tango this week - Canyengue workshops!

Last week before Milonga Month! So in classes this week we will wrap up some of the things we have been working on. 

Also the last week before the Tuesday milonga moves to Thursday. 9:30, after the lessons. Stop in and make some new friends.

Followers class: I heard this story this week: Overheard - Young coed: "Professor, I'll do anything to get a better grade!" Professor "Anything?" Coed: "Yes, anything!" Professor " do you really mean - Anything?" Coed: "Yes Professor - ANYTHING" Professor (leaning in close to her) "OK! - go home this weekend and spend it studying for the final!". That was told to me by a leader here in town. Ladies, if you want to get more dances, (women ask me this all the time) there's only one secret. Work on it. Get better! Remember that men are welcome to help the ladies practice their embellishments. 

This Saturday: Canyengue workshops! Shouldn't you know this dance? Or at least recognize the music so you don't get stuck on the floor dancing salon style to it? Plus, this will be a really fun set of workshops - we'll have a great time!

SATURDAY, JANUARY 30TH
1:00 to 2:30 Canyengue 101

What is Canyengue? First we have to learn to recognize it - the music, that is. We want is that you to hear it so well, that you will delight at the opportunity to express the music in dance, and cringe when you see people dancing salon tango when Canyengues are played. Then we will learn the unique embrace and fun ways to dance this music.



2:45 - 4:15 Canyengue 102

Continue where 101 left off, learning more moves that you can use to dance to the Canyengues of Canaro, Tubatango, Punta y Taco, De Caro and some D'arienzo and Troilo. 

5:00 - 6:30 Canyengue 103



Advanced, more challenging moves that you and your partner will love! We'll include cortes and quebradas, which at one time were considered so racy that they were banned from the floor!

Pricing:  Each workshop $20, all 3 $50 Bring your tango notebook! You will want to take notes.

Coming Up: Valentine's Day Passionate Tango and Connection Workshop Shauna and I are teaming up to provide you with an incredible way to celebrate Valentine's Day! Massages, workshop on passionate tango, workshop on how to give foot massages, workshop on how to bring connectedness into your life, then stay for the evening Milonga (the Loring Pasta Bar is not planning to have a dancefloor that evening, although the band will play.)   We are planning on making a whole day of it - plan to eat here as well.
