Last week we did more in my ongoing series of "follower's favorite
moves", a topic I just can't seem to resist. (Maybe that's why people
say I turn out the best leaders;) ) I know I had promised boleos, so
this week it will be boleos, I promise. It takes a sensitive, caring
leader to resist overleading these!
Tuesday night milonga: Today we are celebrating Becky Peterson's
(yesterday) and Vicky Engebretson's birthday (last Saturday) More
cake! And Lissa's devilled eggs? 9:30 3142 1st Ave S.
Saturday: Follower's workshop! The follower's role in tango is not
difficult - unless you want to get the most fun out of it. We'll work
on all of the most important skills a follower needs. Axis, balance,
ochos, footwork, understanding the lead, musicality, embellishments
and adornments, "pretty feet" - we'll cover quite a bit and you will
be tired afterwards, but it will be worth it. You're welcome to bring
some wine, for relaxation purposes. Just for followers. 3142 1st Ave
S. $15
Rafael Galante week starting April 18! Vals, canyengue, musicality,
improvisation on the weekends, and the special classes on leader's
technique and navigation will be on the weekday evenings.

The parties! The first weekend will be the Black Dog milonga, and we
will stay open later for this special event. During this event you
will be able to not only see Rafael perform (if you haven't during the
day) but also get to know him. Tuesday party, of course, then the big
milonga on Sat, April 25th. I have rented a ballroom for a special
event going-away dance on Saturday, where we will be able to stay nice
and late. Before that dance, we'll have an extra class in Chacarere!
If anybody is able and willing to provide housing during this week of
special events, please let me know.
