This week: The TSoM milonga returns to Hopkins this Saturday. And I'll be
teaching the beginning lesson! I have a special fondness for this place, and
think it is a great venue for milongas. The lesson is at 8, and the dance is
until 1:00. Bring your friends! 811 Main St, Hopkins, 55343

Classes this week - tonight we'll continue work on turns. Last week was
clockwise, tonight we may get to counterclockwise. And see if we can perfect
secadas. Thursday we'll turn the secadas into ganchos.

Wednesday Westtango classes are really fun! Come and try one and you'll see
what I mean. Every week we experiment with another move, and people are
really learning a lot. A great bargain-two very experienced teachers! 8 to
9 PM, Old Arizona Studios.

Practice Partners: Working with a partner is so valuable to your tango!
Everyone should have several. If you're looking for someone, I can try to
match you, but next week at the Black Dog, March 21st, we are going to have
a Find A Practice Partner night. Details will follow.

Don't forget Milonga Martes party tonight! 9:30, 3142 1st Ave S

This week after class a student asked me what else he can do to improve his
tango. So I've been thinking - what would I recommend to a budget-conscious
person to accelerate his/her learning?
1. Get a couple of practice partners. Attend some practicas. Just walk and
pause.
2. Come to class early and start to dance as soon as you can find a partner.
Stay later if it's possible.
3. Go to milongas and just walk and pause, and hang out and talk to people
and have fun.
4. Listen to tango music.
5. Stay away from teaching videos and youtube lessons.
6. Go to the Following for Leaders class, or go to a beginners class and
choose the other role.
7. Attend two classes a week
8. Take your private lessons right after your group lessons, and let the
teacher zone in on your issues.
