Lessons this week: One last week before Milonga Month! Tuesday beginning
class at 6:30, intermediate at 8, Thursday Leader's at 7, advanced at 8,
Saturday beginners at 10AM.

Don't forget the Tuesday night party! Not quite as many people as at
Patrick's last week, but almost as fun. 3142 1st Ave S, after the lessons at
9:30. Don't let the cold bother you either - David is planning on making his
Bailey's, and we can put some in coffee. Mmmmm!

Saturday is one of those odd Fifth Saturdays, and I hear there is a special
milonga in a mansion in St. Paul, sponsored by Jean. Visit the TSoM website
for details.

Wednesday, January 28, I am starting a special Overview of Swing Dance
class. We'll talk about, and learn, several kinds of swing: East coast, West
coast, lindy, jive, triple-count, single-count, six-count, etc. Oh, yes,
and "rock & roll". As the classes progress, we will learn more technique.
Class sizes are small to enable personal attention. 8:00 PM, series of 5
classes. Please let me know if you're coming, so that I can decide on space
requirements. Or you can just show up. $75 for the 5 class series.

Coming up: Steve Lee and I are going to start a "fusion" class that will
incorporate elements of swing, blues and tango together. This is a very new
concept, and you will need to have a knowledge of both swing and tango to
start this class. So if you are a little weak on either one, call me to get
some lessons in to prepare for this really fun class!

P.S. I've been waxing nostalgic the last couple of weeks. We have been
talking so much about the beginnings of the Tango Society and I've heard so
many great thoughts from so many people, who are really interested in
promoting the health of our tango community. So, to celebrate the
anniversary of the founding of TSoM, with your permission, I'm going to send
out a few "historic" emails over the next weeks, talking about those days
gone by. We sometimes forget that we weren't all around back there at the
beginning, and I'm often surprised at the interest of people when I get
started talking about the "old days". If anyone wants to contribute a
thought or a memory, please do!
