[Tango] What a week!

What an amazing week in our tango community! Rafael Galante shared so
much with us - history, music theory, dances, socializing, laughs and,
of course, his opinions! I'm sure those of you on the right path heard
about it - and maybe saw a little finger-pointing at those who aren't.
He was very generous with dancing with lots of people, and many who
don't get to go to Buenos Aires regularly got a taste of what we talk
about all the time! Sorry, guys, the women are going to be a little
more demanding now!

In upcoming classes, we'll continue to review all that he taught us.
I'm also planning special seminars that will focus your learning - for
followers, milonga, vals, etc. I am full of renewed vigor to bring
true, beautiful tango dancing to all of us!!

Thanks for all the great comments about the Fallout milonga! It was
really lovely, and I am very tempted to start something on a regular
basis there. But we have a full summer of outdoor milongas (maybe one
at the Black Dog besides the Sea Salt), so I'm a little stretched. The
first time in a new space is difficult as people have trouble with
finding it, etc., but I feel that the beautiful space is not something
I want to let go. Stay tuned!

Rafael talked about the CD/book for which he acted as producer, and
you can find it here:
http://www.amazon.com/Bailemos-Tango-Century-Dance-Floor/dp/B00004TIOP.
This CD and book is essential in understanding the evolution of tango
music, and the music itself. Those of you who took Canyengue and
Chacarera understand how important this is.

Speaking of Canyengue, yes, I intend to continue sharing this and
integrating the dance into the community. In my opinion, those who are
trying to learn a new step instead of learning more about the music
and the right dance to express it may be on the wrong path. We'll try
to remedy this.

Tuesday night party tonight! After the lessons at 9:30.
