[Tango] Rafael Galante workshops - April 18th & 19th, Monday

Rafael Galante workshops start tomorrow, Saturday at Old Arizona. Old
Arizona is at 2821 Nicollet Ave S. 55408.   We will hold the workshops
downstairs in the larger theater space. The parking lot is closed for
construction, but there is parking by the Asian restaurant across the
street, and beside the building. The Cafe at Old Arizona will be open
all day, and so will the chocolate shop (yumm!) so you'll be able to
get all the energy you need.  Or wine for that all-important
relaxation.

   1. 12:00 to 1:30 Tango Fundamentals: What you should all know.
Walking, turning, axis, balance, style, embrace, and so much more!
   2. 1:45 to 3:15  Tango fundamentals #2
   3. 3:30 to 5:00   Musicality The focus will be on bringing true
musicality and style to your dancing. Both leaders and followers will
benefit from the introduction and review of key, fundamental
principles, whether you are new to tango or seeking to polish your
social dancing.  Rafael is a professional musician, and his father was
a professional bandoneon player, so he will have insights for you!
Bring a notepad. We may try to repeat this class.

Saturday evening, April 18th: Rafael at the Black Dog Milonga! Don't
miss this chance to see (and maybe dance) with a real milonguero. Nora
Destilo will be there also. 308 Prince Street, St. Paul, MN, 8 to

*SUNDAY, APRIL 19th, OLD ARIZONA STUDIOS, 29th and Nicollet Ave S.

   1. 12:00  1:30 Tango Vals. Rafael's favorite - Vals...one of the
most beautiful musical experiences in tango!  In this class we will
learn how to combine the basic tango steps into the rhythm of the
tango vals.  Focus will be on interpreting the music, complementary
posture, embraces and balance.  Basic knowledge and experience in
tango is advisable.
   2. 1:45 - 3:15  Milonga!  You know this is important - and so fun!
Rafael's great at it and will help you get there.
   3. 3:30 to 5:00  Improvisation Use the music and  your partner's
ideas to create on the dancefloor.


SPECIAL CLASS #1! Monday, 8:00, 3142 1st Ave S
MEN'S WORKSHOP:  LEADING WITH STYLE   In this class, we will polish
the subtleties of your lead.  Learn how to improve connection with
your partner, extremely valuable in both open and closed embrace.  We
will investigate how to creatively move into many different options
from basic "resolutions",  adding style and depth to your dancing.
Leaders only.
