As you know, I will be making my annual trip to Buenos Aires again in November. One of the
reasons (besides it's a great time!) is that is is extremely important to keep my dancing
fresh, accurate and truly Argentine, since it is so easy to fall into the spell of what I
call "YouTube Dancing". That means that it looks like you're dancing tango, but the
underlying feel and passion is missing. You might as well dance ballroom! Unfortunately,
the way our community dances is not the same as in Buenos Aires, and many of you will
remember how agitated I get when I am just back from BsAs. So, in preparation, we will
start working on all the things you need to get the passion and feel of tango - musicality,
floorcraft, connection. No Thursday class this week since it's Babalu's, but next week we
will start Following for Leaders, do another Canyengue, then really start hitting
floorcraft. Saturday morning I tend to work a lot on musicality as well as technique.
Tuesday - Old Arizona code is 24135.

It's Babalu's time! Thursday, October 2nd, come on down and dance, dine and hang out with
your tango friends. 7 to 10 PM for tango music, after 10 "alternative" music. 800
Washington Ave N, No cover!!Free parking! Isn't that nice in this tango fee inflationary
time?

Dancing this Friday, October 3rd, "HOPKINS Milonga todos los primeros Viernes del Mes!" at
811 Main Street, Hopkins. See the TSoM Calendar for details. Saturday is Dave Rost's !st
Saturday milonga at Four Seasons, Sunday as always is Loring Pasta Par!

Coming up:
I do listen to you! Next Thursday, by request, I will resume the Following for Leaders
class. This is a drop-in class where men can practice their following skills, which allow
you to have a much greater sensitivity to your partner. This is important, gentlemen!
Followers who want to practice their leading are welcome also. Only $10!

In October we will be working on floorcraft in Thursday advanced class. Do you know a
leader or follower who really needs this information? Next week I'll send along a plain
note that you can sneak onto their chair.

David and I leave for Buenos Aires on November 15th, and return on December 9th. As usual,
I will arrange for tango to still take place in all of the locations you are used to -
Tuesday and Thursday classes, Tuesday parties, Black Dog, etc. Don't miss out on any of the
fun just just because I'm not there!

Still not sure where to take your November/December vacation? Try Buenos Aires! Airfares
this week were about $1190, including baggage fees.
