Omar Vega was one of the first people we brought in to teach workshops when I was president
of the Tango Society, so it must have been 8 or more years ago. His milonga classes were
the best! He was a lot of fun, quite a character, and extremely musical. I would dance with
him when I saw him in Buenos Aires, as did some of the people I brought with me.
I heard he died of an acute asthma attack. He will definitely be missed.

Subject: We lost a big one
Hello everybody,
I just got a message from a friend in Europe, letting me know that Omar
Vega pasted away this morning.
He was only 49.
This is very sat and I still can not believe it.
I could not find any more information on line yet.
Here's him dancing a candombe:

I know some of you got to meet him when he was in Minneapolis.
He was incredible talented and joyful person.
Let's think about him today and offer at least a dance in his memory.
See you later,
Florencia

There are men who struggle for one day and are good.
There are others who struggle for a year and are better.
There are the ones that struggle many years and are very good.
But there are the ones who struggle their whole lives, they are the
indispensable ones. Bertolt Brecht
