So we have been going over turning moves, and now it's time to maybe add a secada or keep
them turning, or add other elements or embellishments to these very common moves. These are
the Wheee! moves that followers love so much! And they are pretty fun for leaders, too. Of
course, doing it right makes all the difference, as I may have mentioned before....
Thursday: Following for Leaders begins again! 7:00PM. Every guy who comes to this class
raves about how helpful it is. If you are a leader and can't follow, you're just never
going to get to where you want to be in tango, and never be more than an intermediate
dancer. That's the truth. No excuses!
Thursday Advanced is Canyengue again - one last night. Several people commented on a great
milonga I led this weekend and wanted to know how I did it. Here's the secret - it was a
Canyengue to slow milonga. They were right - it was a blast! Canyengue is a playful dance,
so we'll look at more playful moves, then do some work on identifying the music and
transporting it to milonga.
Marilyn and Bob have left for Florida, so the days of fresh pies are over for the Tuesday
night parties. However, there have been lots of others who have been very generous, with
pizza, subway sandwiches and cheeses. And the wine. And the music. Life is good!
Anyone feeling generous with their time? St. Paul Academy would like to incorporate tango
into their production of Blood Wedding, and have asked for some help. Tuesday and tomorrow
(Oct 7, 8th) at 1150 Goodrich Ave in St. Paul, I will be there at 3:30 PM. Let me know!
