TUESDAYS: Don't forget that the the Code for Old Arizona has CHANGED! It is now 24135. Of course, you can always ring the bell and we will come down and let you in. We are going to try to revisit some of the elements that make secadas easy. And the important part: the party starts at 9:30!

Thursday: The Following for Leaders class is going on summer hiatus. No class until fall, unless there is a special demand. The Thursday technique class at 8:00 is getting more and more interesting as we experiment with more challenging elements. The smaller class size allows for this. Are you ready? If you are not coming yet but would like to try, give me a call.

Friday, May 30: Asthma Fundraiser Dance at O'Gara's Bar & Grill in Saint Paul. May 30. Who can forget that great chocolate buffet! Lisa is doing it again! Free dance lesson and lots of great dance music, and an incredible silent auction. 164 Snelling Ave, St. Paul, MN 55104 Free parking! 6 pm - 9:30 pm -- official time of the silent auction & door prizes, plus my DJ music. Fun continues late into the night! Silent auction -- 6-9, Hot air balloon, wine baskets, theater tix, hotel stays, Gift Certificates, dance lessons & more!
Dance lesson -- 7ish
Chocolate buffet -- all night! Cheesecake, chocolate fountain, truffles, tortes & more
Door prizes -- 6 - 9:30 Wine, oil changes, ice cream, spa products, coffee & more
Live music -- 9:30 - 1:30 am Pat McCurdy
Cash Bar -- all night!

Saturday, May 31: Mandragora Orchestra plays May 31st at Tapestry Dance Center, 38th and Minnehaha, Mpls. 3748 Minnehaha Ave, Minneapolis, MN 55406
(612) 722-2914. The Tapestry tango lessons in May were very successful - come out and encourage the new folks! 8:00 pm - 11:00 pm No lesson. Admission: $9 ($7 members / students) Free parking.

Now for a little philosophy: Last Saturday night during the Blues Dance outing, David said to me "everyone wants to be us." And it was true - we were all having a great time, and attracting a lot of attention from others at the bar. I was having so much fun, I didn't notice. Sometimes as we struggle through the intricacies of tango and the tango scene, wondering if our technique is good enough or we are getting enough of the right kind of dances, we forget what a great gift we have given ourselves in learning tango. Enjoy it, share it and thank yourself for being so smart to have taken up dancing!
