In lessons this week we are getting back to getting the feeling right. Those
of you who know me know that I am big on the feeling of tango. That's what
is crucial - it's not how many steps you know or how complicated they are.
We share the music and each other's feelings on the dancefloor. Learning a
syllabus is for ballroom! Each step you learn must fit the music, your
partner, and fit the floor. It's not easy to learn this - it's often easier
just to learn a step and throw it in your dance. Don't be tempted! Learn to
do it right, and why it feels good, so you can *really* tango!

*Fun Stuff*

Don't forget to leave a comment on CityPages blog about outdoor tango!

*Thursday July 3rd* is Babalu's! Remember the time change - it has turned
into an afternoon milonga by starting at 7:00 and ending at 10PM. That's
good, because happy hour ends at 7:30. 800 Washington Ave N, across from
Bunkers.

Then, *Saturday July 5th*, It's blues night again!! Normally held on the 4th
Saturday, we moved it because there was an open Saturday. (Dan Griggs,
though, has moved his regular First Friday Hopkins milonga to this
Saturday)

Minnesotans love their blues! This night is so fun that it is hard to tell
where the party starts and the lesson ends.

Dancing to the blues is getting more and more popular.
7:00 PM Tango to the Blues (and other alternative music). Blues music has
many similarities to tango music, and sometimes is more approachable than
tango because our ears are more familiar with it. You need to have some
experience with Argentine Tango for this class.

Then we'll start on the Blues Dancing at 8PM. Blues Dancing is a fairly new
dance that
allows us to interpret slow blues music with dance. It is deceptive - not as
easy as it
looks! In other words, it may take a while for it to get easy.

$15 for one class, $25 for both.
Class held at: 3142 1st Ave S. Minneapolis, MN 55408 Bring your favorite
beverage to
enjoy during class.

Afterwards: Blues Outing to T. Albert LLoyd and the Kingpins at Valley
Lounge, 3385 Sibley Memorial Hwy, Eagan (Hwy 13 & Yankee Doodle Road).
This is the group we enjoyed so much at Schuller's last year. They are very
happy to have us come and dance! If you want to meet us there, we should be
arriving about 10.

Coming up: Tango at Lake Harriet Bandshell, *Thursday July 10th*. Class
cancelled for that night!
