Thanks to everyone who came out to the workshops with Ernest Williams this
weekend. He really covered a lot! We will review as much as possible in
classes over the next months. Remember that February is still Milonga Month,
so here in January we will cover Canyengue, and maybe get to the Million
Crosses. We can also cover any concepts you'd like in private lessons.
Here is Ernest's message:
> Lois

> Thank you for inviting me to teach in Minneapolis. I
> so enjoyed spending time with you and David and the
> rest of the tango community. The energy was high and
> the students hungry to learn. Anna had a great time at
> the milonga on Sunday night and saw people
> implementing some of the concepts learned in the
> workshops.

I also want to thank people who came despite the terribly chilly weather,
and am really glad everyone got so much out of the workshops. I will try to
bring him back again, maybe in late summer.

This Saturday January 26th is the long-anticipated Blues Dancing and Dancing
Tango to the Blues seminar. This night, with the lesson and then the dance
outing afterwards, is so fun that it is the most-requested night that I do.

Dancing to the blues is getting more and more popular. I will start with
Tango to the Blues (and other alternative music) at 7 PM. Blues music has
many similarities to tango, and sometimes is more approachable than tango
because our ears are more familiar with it. Then we'll start on the Blues
Dancing at 8PM. Blues Dancing is a fairly new dance that allows us to
interpret slow blues music with dance. It is deceptive - not as easy as it
looks! In other words, it may take a while for it to get easy.
$15 for one class, $25 for both.
Class held at: 3142 1st Ave S. Minneapolis, MN 55408 Bring
your favorite beverage to enjoy during class. Check the calendar for the
blues bar we will hit afterwards.

Don't forget the Following for Leaders class every Thursday. Besides being a
great value for guys practicing their following ($10), leaders of either
gender who want
to practice can come for free. Learning to follow is essential for leaders -
especially those who like to help followers. I have heard men
giving women bad advice on how to follow, because they don't have any
understanding of what is involved. Get a dose of both knowledge and humility
- your followers will love you for it! 3142 1st Ave S.
