[Tango] Tango This Week

This week in most classes we are working on the multitude aspects and options of back
ochos. We are looking at more ways to start, end and embellish, while making them
comfortable, easy, fun, musical and beautiful.

Thursday classes are going to focus on the most advanced concept, and that is the beauty of
the connection. I have heard, and I believe, that we are getting away from the fine points
of connection. It is all too easy to fall into a trap of moves and patterns, and thinking
about what to do next, what' your spine is doing, "what move haven't I done in this dance 
with
this follower", etc. We forget that tango is about sharing the music and a connection. This
is truly the essence!!  This is often a difficult concept to grasp, but we will do some
great exercises to enhance this. We only have one month to gear up for the people from out
of town who will be here for the Heartland Tangofest, and we want to give them our best
dances!

Tuesday Party -"Milonga Martes" We've been talking about the history of this great little
party, and remembering when we just wanted a glass of wine and some conversation on a
Tuesday night. It seems that we were either unwelcome or unable to keep venues from going
out of business, so we decided to move it to my house, where we had complete control of the
music and kitchen. Saves us quite a bit of  money each week, even from the 1/2 price happy
hours we used to find. One side bonus - we get to know each other so much better in this
relaxed setting!

Saturday is the Tango Society of MN milonga. All tango events are on the Google calendar,
which has a link on my website.

This year is the 10th Anniversary of my first trip to BA. (That one was in February) This
year the trip is in November. Do you want to come along?  I go for a month, but you don't
