It was nice to hear some students say that a lot of what Tete and Sylvia
said this weekend was what I say in lessons. This isn't too surprising,
since I took privates with them starting in Buenos Aires way back in 1999. I
know that many times I don't believe or internalize something until I hear
it from two sources. So I hope that the weekend, hearing things over, was
rewarding!
In answer to some questions about the Following for Leaders classes starting
tonight at 8:30 (3142 1st Ave S), this will be for men only. I think the
guys will get more out of this without the presence of women. So, guys -
what happens in Following class, stays in Following class. Cost is $10, and
the class will be on-going.
If you are a woman wanting to learn to lead, you are welcome to come to my
regular classes and identify yourself as a leader. You may also cycle in and
out if you prefer.
It appears that it is true that followers prefer close embrace, because
since we've been working on open we have had fewer follows. OK, even though
a little open is good for you (if you are doing it right) we will get back
to close embrace this week.
Tuesday night is growing! My house, about 9:30, tango, wine and food. We
have a great time - ladies, the leads are some of the best in the Twin
Cities! Come and dance with them!
This Friday, May 4th from 9-12 PM the Rochester tango community is hosting a
milonga. Several people are carpooling. Since I used to drive all the way to
Rochester to teach tango, I would like to go, and encourage you to go as
well. Nick told me this week that there are about 5 people who have
volunteered to take passengers to Rochester. As I get more info I will
forward. Here is Nick's email: girlie1918 at comcast.net
