Constant vigilance! That seems to be what our tango technique needs. We'll
continue to fix some of the steps you already know, and in advanced we are
still working on open embrace. This week - boleos and secadas. Here's where
I get - umm - impatient... You'd better have your footwork and frame down
perfectly if you're going into open embrace!

This Tuesday we will again welcome our student visitors, who are working on
a project on the "tango subculture". They are grateful that we are willing
to answer their questions so readily, but the truth is it would be harder to
get us to shut up about tango. We also will have some guests who are
evaluating whether to add dance lessons at their facility. Don't be shy in
telling them what a great idea that would be!

Come and join us Tuesday at 9:30 PM for tango, food, wine and conversation.
You do not need an invitation! Just come! 3142 1st Ave S

FOURTH SATURDAY SEMINAR is this week already!
7:00 Musicality! Not just talk, but lots of work! We're going to put the
moves you know inside the music where they belong. Doing a great step
perfectly at the wrong time in the music is useless. Doing a simple step, at
the right time in the music, is priceless and the root of good tango. We'll
examine the different passages and how to recognize and how to interpret
them. We will get it right by learning some simple techniques that you can
practice by yourself. We'll look at the followers role in delighting the
leader with her musicality.

8:30 Blues Dancing Here's what one definition says: Based on Lindy Hop
principles, but mixed with elements of West Coast Swing
<http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/West_Coast_Swing> , Foxtrot
<http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Foxtrot_%28dance%29> , Argentine Tango
<http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Argentine_Tango> , and general club dancing,
it grew rapidly in popularity...

Afterwards, blues dancing to the Blues Kings!
http://www.bluesonstage.com/blueskings/ Their style ranges from straight
ahead Chicago (the Chess sound of the 1950's) to Louisiana swamp blues to
west coast jump blues.
