Thanks to everyone who came to the Outdoor Tango at Aster Cafe. We had a
great time, despite the heat! And more importantly, I think the folks at
Aster liked our kind of crowd. That means we may be able to do it again!

For the next couple of weeks we will focus on Vals - what it is, how to
interpret it, and what makes it work. Vals is different from tango! It is as
important to interpret each song for a dancer as it is for a musician. It is
sad to see people dance the same way to every piece of music, or just throw
embellishments in to a song with no regard to the music. We would never do
that, would we??

Last weekend our Tuesday Night party didn't disband until 3AM - luckily we
have few Wednesday holidays in a year! Come this week, but try to leave by
1:00 or so!

This Saturday July 14th is the TSoM milonga. It is at a new location for the
summer, Matty B's, downtown St. Paul. I will teach the lesson from 8 to 9PM,
dance from 9 to 1.

Come with us to the Chicago Tango Fest! Dates are August 23rd to August
27th, 2007. The all-inclusive package includes: (7) Workshops, 1.5 hrs per
workshop (4) Milongas, with live music, including the Gala Milonga at Navy
Pier with fireworks extravaganza (1) Theater Performance of Tango, the Dance
of the Eternal at Navy Pier Grand Ballroom. Please visit their website,
www.chicagotangofest.com, and take advantage of the early bird discount,
which will be available up to July 15, 2007. I am an Ambassador, so please
remember to enter my name when you register. Cost for the whole weekend is
only $350 for singles, $650 for couples.

Once we know how many are going and when, we'll arrange transportation.
David is fine about driving that far, we'll just have to find a vehicle big
enough. Of course, flying in is also a possibility. The organizers have told
me that there is plenty of room at the Palmer House Hilton. There is a
nearby hostel, or we can see if there is a local tanguero/a who has some
extra room. I'll keep you informed of any special arrangements I can make.

Please let me know if you have any more questions!
