[Tango] Oddfellows, new classes, etc

I promised you I would report on the Oddfellows practica in St. Paul that
Lindsay holds Monday nights. It was great! Easy parking, great dancers, nice
floor, but not quite enough followers. So, ladies, come and join us! 9 to 11
Mondays. Oddfellows is so easy to get to - I take the 280 exit from 94, then
R on University, L on Raymond. Entrance is on Hampden.

Lindsay and I talked about starting a women's class in leading/men's class
in following at Oddfellows. We think there would be great interest for this
for both genders. 

Here is what we are thinking - an all women's class and an all men's class,
maybe 1st and 3rd Monday for women, 2nd and 4th Monday for men, and 5th
Monday for both genders together. Cost would be $12 non-students/$8
students, time 8:30. Let me know what your think!


Tuesdays tango at Vino 610, Lake and Lyndale Ave S. is going great! We were
there until after midnight last night. We start about 9:45.

Fourth Saturday workshop: The theme this time is Performance Tango.  Many of
you are getting requests and opportunities to perform, or at least to
demonstrate some tango. We'll explore the differences between tango for your
partner and tango for an audience, plus learn an easy move or two designed
to impress your audience. I'm still looking for a blues club or other venue
to dance afterward. Workshop starts at 7:30 PM. For this workshop you may
want to bring your own partner, and dress to move. $15, held at 3142 1st Ave
S, Mpls. Afterwards, we'll find some place to go dance, probably to live
blues music, so come and join us about 9 PM. Check my website for updates.

Considering coming to Buenos Aires with my group? Let me know your dates
right away, as I need to reserve the space. This will be an exciting trip
for me since I will be performing there with my Buenos Aires tango partner,
and I would love to have some of my "homies" in the audience. Airfare is a
little daunting, but once you get there it's so cheap! We are leaving on
November 15th, but some of the group is leaving before.

Coming up! The Fifth Friday dance and all-night milonga at the 42nd Ave
Ballroom! September 29th. This time we will have a guest DJ for tango -
Chris from Iowa!
