More dancing - After the Black Dog, we usually go over to Matty B's
where they have a wonderful dance floor and they let me play CD's.
Wabasha Ave. just off Kellogg.
On July 15th, the Black Dog Coffee and Wine Cafe will have music in
honor of Bastille Day. Ensemble Limousin will provide music on the
terrace, weather permitting, from 5:00 until 8:00 P.M. There will
of course be food, wine and other beverages available for purchase,
and room to sit, dance and enjoy the evening and this free event.
Stay a little longer and dance the Tango at the monthy tango night
as well, starting at 8:00.
Limousin recreates the music of the true traditional Bals Musette
of Paris, circa 1895-1905, the time some consider the height of the
French expression of the music prior to WWI. The cafes, also
bougnats, were gathering places for working people and artists and
where the sound of hurdy-gurdy, musette, and accordion diatonique
filled the room for the dancers to bouree, waltz and mazurka.
Enjoy this French national holiday in a truly French way, at the
Black Dog Cafe
