We are continuing to work on some fundamentals that I believe are missing in
people's tango dancing locally. All classes will continue as normal through
the holidays, and no classes are cancelled. Don't forget Saturday morning
classes - I know it's early but it is a great class!

Fourth Saturday Workshop: This weekend is the Fourth Saturday, and as
always we will teach a workshop on an important aspect of tango. This time
it is the Abrazo - the embrace. This is the most important thing to get your
dance comfortable, and it is the biggest difference always cited between
dancing in Buenos Aires and dancing here. (that and the music!) I had many
conversations with teachers and others about the embrace in BA, and this is
a big subject with many nuances. We will do some exercises and explore the
different types of embrace, and practice them all. We will learn to move
easily between the embraces, and also learn how to deal with different
heights in your dance partners.

This Saturday we will have a Holiday Open House after the workshop. Those of
you who have been in the tango scene a long time may remember that I always
had a party the day after Thanksgiving, but I haven't been able to do that
for a few years because I'm in BA then. We will have dancing, but it will
include variety so don't expect tango only. Bring a Christmas cookie or a
snack to share if you would like!
