It's still Milonga Month! (Except for Saturday mornings, still at my
house, still tango). Remember, if I had my way, everyone would learn
milonga first - I believe it is a jumpstart to good tango. Tuesday and
Thursday classes at Old Arizona, upstairs in the purple building, door
code is 13524.

More people are showing an interest in the tango at Vino 610 on Tuesday
nights. Please join us! Bottles of wine are still half price, the crowd
is friendly and accepting of tango dancers, and the food is great. 610
Lake Street, Lake and Lyndale.

Of course, this Saturday is the Black Dog milonga, 308 Prince St, St.
Paul. Lesson from 7:30 to 8, dance until 11 or until the staff throws us
out. Then we go over to Matty B's, just two blocks from Kellogg on
Wabasha, where they let us commandeer the music system.

I have been hearing from lots of people that they are very excited about
the Heartland Tangofest that will be here in September. It is very
exciting! Those of you who haven't had an opportunity to travel to tango
festivals are in for an incredible experience - you will have an
opportunity to dance with some of the best dancers in the country! I
have danced with many of these dancers at various festivals and in BsAs,
and it is wonderful. In anticipation of this, I will be concentrating on
some of the things that these fine dancers can provide to their
partners, IF YOU ARE OPEN TO IT. Connection and the embrace,
musicality, floorcraft, are some of the important things you should have
down. Call for a private lesson, if you want to get there faster. If
you haven't registered yet, go here: www.heartlandtango.com

Every 4th Saturday we will hold a seminar on various critical elements
of tango. Coming up on Saturday August 26th, 2006 7:00 -8:30 PM
Embellishments for Men and Women

Embellishing your tango can enhance both you and your partner's
enjoyment of the dance, if done correctly. Leaders need to not only
embellish their own dance, but leave room for the follower's voice.
Followers need to not only keep the adornments beautiful, but provide a
delight to the leader. Come to this seminar to learn and practice a
variety of natural, clean, musical and beautiful adornments

3142 1st Ave S, Mpls, 55408
Cost $15/person
Afterwards, we will gather to dance at a local club (TBA)

FW: Practice at Oddfellow's
Good news from Lindsay:

Hey folks, I rent the Oddfellows Hall on Monday nights from 9-11pm for
tango practice. If anyone is looking for some space to practice, feel
free
to join us. It's rather informal; I bring my laptop and/or a CD player
and
music. The oak floor is nice! The Oddfellows Hall is located above the
Hampden Park Co-op on the corner of Hampden and Raymond Avenues in St
Paul
(entry on Hampden Ave). Feel free to contact me by email
<orrxx058 at umn.edu>
or phone (651-249-1433) with questions. Cheers, Lindsay
