Dancers of the Twin Cities

Lynn Schulz has voluntarily been providing a terrific bundle of information for some time now about the dance opportunities in our Twin Cities, maybe the most comprehensive ones available. She started with an email version (still available) and the much better transition to a web based format with the help of Mike Nelson http://www.jmnelson.com/lynne.htm#fri. I have the Nelson website setup as one of my "links" so I don't have to go looking for it - it's always right out there to click on. I no longer open the email because the web based version has a better graphical user interface (GUI).

Where am I going with this. Lynn has dutifully provided valuable information about what's going on in our Twin Cities to keep our feet moving - for free. She has, in a kindly way, asked for a small donation ($20) to the cause to keep the info flowing...but few have replied with money in hand. At the top of Mike's website posting he indicates the amount of time he spends to post dance listings (not much) vs. the amount of time Lynn invests to produce the weekly listing (lots). Please check it out so you understand what Lynn is putting into this.

Lynn has never threatened to end her valuable cornucopia listing of dance opportunities if we don't support her. I, for one, think her postings are valuable in the time saved to search out what's going on. We spend this pittance all the time for things of much less value. The info Lynn provides pulls it all into one location - what a deal. We are blessed to have a wonderful Twin Cities to dance in and information from Lynn, as well as others, to tell us where to go. Of course, we all love getting things for nothing. Is this right?

When I started my dance journey (primarily WCS) in the mid 90s, my only resources on places to dance were the City Pages (Reader) and knowing that the MWCSDC had dances on the 2nd and 4th Fridays of the month. Alot has changed since then. The opportunities to dance many different dances have exploded since then but you have to know where the action you are interested in is happening. My bet is on supporting Lynn so we don't lose this terrific dance resource.

Lynn...great job...my check is in the mail.
