GENERAL NEWS
BUENOS AIRES NEWS - ‘have just returned to Mpls. on Mar. 4.… totally
exhausted with very bruised feet! Last night, my final night, I danced
non-stop from 9 pm - 2 and got my good-bye kisses. (People are much more
affectionate here than in the U.S.!) B.A. is a big, noisy city that does not
quiet down until 2 in the morning. People often don’t even arrive at a
milonga until midnight. The wait in line at the grocery store is at least ½
hour. I had a lovely escape though one morning visiting the Jardin Botanical
Garden which is next to the zoo. An interesting thing here is all the
beautiful entrance doors to the buildings even though the rest of the
building walls have graffiti on them. The children have now returned to
school as of Mon., Mar. 1, so it is the beginning of fall there.
FUNERAL FOR GORDON ANDERSON: Visitation will be Thur., Mar. 5, 5-7 PM at
Morris Nilsen Chapel, 6527 Portland Av. S, Richfield. Funeral on Fri., Mar.
6, at 11 AM at MN Valley Unitarian Fellowship, 10715 Zenith Av. S,
Bloomington. Obituary in Mar. 4 StarTribune. Gordon, 84, joined the MN WC
Swing Club in 1989, member for 20 years, served on the board, various
committees, was President in 1995. He and his wife, Correne, rarely missed a
dance at the B-Dale Club; he and Correne also were ballroom dancers. He was
involved in many community and political events, such as JAYCEE President,
State Senate candidate, Presidential elector and Richfield Charter
