Last Thursday in the Pioneer Press- I read an article on Withrow Ballroom
(in Hugo/Stillwater) closing. It was MN's oldest ballroom- 80 years. The
current owners have owned it for the last 8 years. They will finish out this
season's wedding receptions, then immediately close their doors- unless someone
buys their 10,000 sq. ft. facility very soon.
Thursday, August 7th: At the Tapestry Folkdance Center: Beginning East
Coast Swing and Lindy Hop class, Cindy & Terry Gardner teach, 6:30-9:30pm, $9/
$7 members & students. Late Nite DJ Swing Dance, 10pm-1am, $6/ $4 members &
students.
Friday, August 8th: Café Bailar (Ballroom & Latin variety) dance at Retro
Ballroom of On Your Toes School of Dance (5810 W. 36th Street, St. Louis Park,
MN 55416). Quickstep lesson by Jeff Nehrbass (former world smooth dance
champion) 7:30-8:30pm. Dance with D.J. David Olson 8:30-midnight. $8 members
