Tropical Ballroom is organizing a group to go see Swing! at the Chanhassen
Dinner Theater. Special rate is only $40 for both dinner & the show! We are
going Sunday, August 3rd, 5:00pm dinner, 7:00pm show. To reserve a spot with

Wednesdays: DJ Fatty at Picosa Restaurant (65 Main Street SE- St. Anthony
Main, Minneapolis), Salsa lesson by Social Dance Studio at 5:30pm, dancing
6:00-9:00pm, no cover, drink specials.
Thursdays: Salsa del Soul at the Times Bar & Cafe (201 E. Hennepin Ave,
Minneapolis), 9:30pm-12:30am, $5.
Fridays: DJ Chino (sometimes a live band too) at Mi Familia Mexican
Restaurant (1750 Weir Drive, Woodbury), Salsa lesson by Tropical Ballroom at 9:00pm,
dancing 10:00pm-2:00am, free cover, free margaritas for ladies.
Saturdays: Salsabrosa at Picosa Restaurant, Salsa lesson by Social Dance
Studio at 9:00pm, followed by dancing, $10 cover, validated parking with
purchase.
Sundays: Eliecer Ramirez-Vargas DJs Latin variety music at Babalu
Restaurant (800 Washington Ave N, Minneapolis), 8:30pm, ages 18+.

Thursday, July 17th: Late Night Swing at the Tapestry Folkdance Center,
starts at 10pm, $6 or $4 members. (Swing class prior from 6:30-9:30pm, $9 or $7
members).
Friday, July 18th: Classic Ballroom (in Four Seasons Mall: 4228 Lancaster
Ln. N. Plymouth)- 7:10pm, two 30 min. lessons (one beginner, one bronze & up),
practice party from 8:00-9:00pm. $15 per person, or $10 for party only.

Friday, July 18th: Free Salsa lesson by Tropical Ballroom (James & Tricia
Wood) at 9pm, and Latin dancing 10pm-2am at Mi Familia Mexican Restaurant in
Woodbury, 1750 Weir Drive- in the same mall as Tropical Ballroom. Ladies
drink free margaritas. No cover charge. Bring ear plugs- sometimes the music
gets loud, but they adjust it for us!

block west off 494 & Valley Creek Rd. International Rumba lesson by James &
Tricia Wood 7-8pm, Dance 8-11pm. $10 nonmembers, $7 members, $5 under 25 yrs

the brand new Tropical Ballroom! (Grand Opening next weekend!) Very much
air-conditioned, dress in layers!
Saturday, July 19th: Argentine Tango dancing with Lois Donnay at Black Dog
Café- at Broadway & Prince Street by the Farmers Market in St. Paul. Lesson
at 7:30pm, Dancing 8-12:00. $4 per person. Food, wine, beer available.
(3rd Saturday of every month).
Saturday, July 19th: Havin' a Ball singles dance, held at Retro Ballroom in
St. Louis Park. Rumba lesson by Laurel Behning at 7:30pm. Dance to band,
Swanee & the Knights of Rock & Roll, $12. No cash bar, but water, juice, and
pop vending on site.
Saturday, July 19th: The Retractions (formerly known as the country band
Alfalpha Males) will play a variety of R & B, rock 'n roll, funk, and '70s &
'80s dance music at the Eagles Club at 25th & 25th in Mpls, 8:00pm-12:00am.
Saturday, July 19th: Contra Dance at the Tapestry Folkdance Center
7:30-11:30pm, $9 or $7 members.
Sunday, July 20th: Pig roast and west coast swing dancing to band: Who Nu,
