* Twin Cities Open Ballroom  Competition is Thurs-Sat, July 10-12, 2008.  
Pre-reserved  tickets are due June 1st already!  Otherwise, reserved tables must 
be  submitted by June 15th.  If you would like to sit with us, James &  Tricia

Matinee 9:00am-5:00pm,  $10 (Professionals dance w/Amateurs, all levels & 
ages,  smooth dances)  
Evening 7:30-11:30pm,  $20 (Solo exhibitions, Pro/Am scholarship events, 
smooth  & rhythm dances, youth) 
Friday, July 11: 
Matinee 7:30am-5:00pm,  $10 (Professionals dance w/Amateurs, all levels & 
ages,  rhythm dances) 
Evening 8:00pm-12:00am,  $25 (Pro/Am scholarship events, smooth & rhythm 
dances,  Professional "Rising Star" competition, live swing band for social  
dancing) 
Saturday, July 12: 
Matinee 8:30am-5:00pm,  $10 (Pro/Am smooth dances, followed by Pro/Am rhythm  
dances) 
Evening 8:00pm-12:00am,  $35 (High level Pro/Am, top scholarships, top 
professional  competitions, Beyond Ballroom Dance Company performance)

Tapestry Folkdance Center (38th  & Minnehaha, Mpls), potluck hors d'oeuvres, $5 
variety dance 7-10pm.  FMI, Duayne Wincell, (507) 451-5346.  

Friday, May 30th:  ForDanSa  (Chinese American Ballroom Dance Club) Ballroom 
& Latin variety dance at ERV  Dance Studio (816 Mainstreet, Hopkins).  Cha-Cha 
lesson at 8:00pm, Dancing  8:45-11:00pm.  $10. 

Friday, May 30th:  Daddy Squeeze’s Gypsy Café band is playing at  the 
Tapestry Folkdance Center.  7:30-8:00pm tango lesson by Ralph Tutilla.  8:00pm dance 
will include French Musette, Gypsy Swing, Latin & Tango.  Dance music DJ’d 
during band breaks.  $9. 

Friday, May 30th:  Retro Ballroom dance, A Night in Paradise  luau potluck, 
lesson by Jeff Nehrbass 7:30-8:30pm, dance 8:30-11pm.  $10. 

Saturday, May 31st:  Alfalpha Males country/variety dance band is  playing at 
the Eagles Club at Trappers Bar & Grill (6810 Lake Dr, Lino  Lakes), 
9:00pm-1:00am. 

Saturday, May 31st:  The Fugitive band (Elvis, ’50s, ’60s, ’70s)  at 
Shakopee Ballroom, 8pm-12am, $12 per person.  (No lesson). 

Saturday, May 31st:  SOS Club in Oakdale- Country 2-Step lesson by  Skip & 
Diane Schletz 7:30-8:00pm.  Then Skip is DJ (country, swing,  variety) from 
8:00pm-12:00am.  $6. 

Saturday, May 31st:  Havin' a Ball Singles Dance at Bloomington  VFW.  
7:30-8:15pm East Coast Swing lesson by Laurel Behning.  8:15-8:30pm Sex on the Beach 
line dance lesson.  8:30pm-12:30am dance  to The Castaways band. 
Sunday, June 1st:  Rebels Swing Dance Club’s west coast swing  dance at the 
Eagles Club (at 25th & 25th in Minneapolis).  Lesson at  7:00pm.  Dance 
7:30-10:30pm.  $6 members, $10 nonmembers.  (1st  & 3rd Sundays of every month). 

Monday, June 2nd:  Vote at the B-Dale Club (2100 N Dale Street,  Roseville) 
for the new MN West Coast Swing Dance Club Board.  New  Membership Director is 
needed- call Joy at (651) 402-9794.  Annual  membership meeting, elections, 
snacks and dancing!  $1 requested donation  for snacks and soft drinks.  
7:30-10:30pm. 

Friday, June 6th:  Club Salsero  8pm-12am, 1st & 3rd Fridays of every month, 
Social Dance Studio: 3742  23rd Ave. S, Minneapolis, MN 55407, $10 or $5 with

Friday, June 6th:  Classic Ballroom (in Four Seasons Mall: 4228  Lancaster 
Ln. N. Plymouth)- 7:10pm, two 30 min. lessons (one beginner, one  bronze & up), 
practice party from 8:00-9:00pm.  $15 per person, or $10  for party only.  
Staff available to dance with.  (1st & 3rd  Fridays of every month).  (763)

Friday, June 6th:  Latin (Salsa, Bachata, Cumbia, Rumba,  Cha-Cha) dancing at 
Cinema Ballroom.  Latin Mix lesson at 8:00pm.  Dancing at 9:00pm.  $15 for 
both, $10 dance only.  (1st Friday  of every month). 

Friday, June  6th:  Jerry O’Hagen 14 piece  Orchestra at On Your Toes/Retro 
Ballroom in St. Louis Park.  Waltz lesson  by Jeff Nehrbass at 7:30pm.  Dance 
8:30-11:00pm.  $12 per person.  This is a 1 year celebration of opening Retro 
Ballroom of On Your Toes  School of Dance.  Cake and coffee served. 

Saturday, June 7th:  Metro Variety Dance at Retro Ballroom of On  Your Toes 
School of Dance (5810 W. 36th Street, St. Louis Park, MN 55416).  Waltz lesson 
by Tom & Anne  LaTourelle at 7:30pm.  Variety dance with DJ David Olson 
8-11pm.  $7  per person.  (1st Saturday of every month). 

Saturday, June 7th:  Ronn  and Sara Kreps would love for you to join them in 
celebrating their daughter  Suzanne's graduation from Minnehaha Academy High 
School.  7:00pm at Cinema  Ballroom, Suzanne will perform a brief exhibition of 
her dancing with her dad  and with her teacher, Eric Hudson.  Social dancing 
from 7:30 to 10:30 p.m.  Free.  No gifts please, just presence.  FMI, email

Saturday, June 7th:  Lake Harriet  Bandshell Music Festival- 1:30-3:00pm 
Beasley's Big Band Jazz with Christine  Rosholt's vocals, followed by other bands 
until 9:00pm, (starts at  12noon). 

Sunday, June 8th:  Christine  Rosholt (vocal) & band at St. Anthony Main / 
Mississippi Riverfront,  4:00-8:00pm, free, outdoor concert.
