CANCELLATIONS/ADDITIONS to the newsletter I sent out Apr. 2 (please remind your studios/venues/clubs/instructors/staff to get their news to me before Tuesdays):

Fri., Apr. 4
CANCELLED:  COUNTRY/SWING DANCE at Retro (cancelled just for Apr. 4, there is one every 1st and 3rd Fri.)

Apr. 4 & 5
CHANGE TO COUNTRY/WC SWING EVENTS AT STARK'S:
"Jason and Erica have had an opportunity come up at the last minute for this weekend and will not be able to be at Stark's. The only change for the evenings is there will be no demo now. The Two-Step workshop Sat. afternoon will now be taught by Caroline Olson and Bob Wood. They will still be at the Rebels dance party on Sunday night.  I have added a free lesson with cover from 7:30 - 8:00 Fri. with Loel Brandstrom teaching WC Swing starter steps. On Sat. Lynn Card will be doing a free line dance lesson from 7:30 - 8:00. Music starts at 8:00 both nights. Everything is all set, full details on the web page www.starks-saloon.com"

More details:  "Salsa Caliente" or "Latin Carnaval" (Spanish spelling) will have a LIVE Sensacion Latina Band at ERV Dance Studio, 816 1/2 Mainstreet, Hopkins, 2nd fl., 952-303-3339; 8pm-group class, band 9pm;$10, 18+ years old

DETAILS ABOUT "CARNIVAL" at TheatredelaJeuneLune, 105 N. First St., Mpls., just N. off Hennepin Av. in downtown Mpls.: 
Per a conversation I had with JeuneLune employee on Thur. afternoon:
The dance floor is wood and is about 75' long X 12' wide in front of the orchestra.
This fun evening is a fundraiser for the theatre. 
6 pm-8 pm -Cognac tasting/silent auction/dinner
Great live music will be:  
7 pm - Christine Rosholt jazz 
8 pm- Mandragora 
9:30 - Davina and the Vagabonds 
10:30 - Willie Murphy blues 
Other performers are Dylan Fresco, Xelias Aerialists, fire performers.
You can come just for the music part of the evening for $35 at the door. The evening including cognac and dinner is $150.
