Personal  update from Tricia Wood:  James and  I have picked out the best 
building in Woodbury to open our new studio, to be  called Tropical Ballroom!  (I 
will  announce the address, dimensions, estimated grand opening, and all 
other details  soon!)  In the meantime, we are  teaching out of ERV Dance Studio 
in Hopkins (the old Foster’s location, now  newly remodeled), on Mondays, 
Wednesdays, and Saturdays (or by appt).  Thank you to all of you for your support  
and encouragement!  We are very  excited for all these changes!  If  you’d

Friday,  February 29th:  ERV Dance Studio Grand Opening Dance  Party: 816 1/2 
Mainstreet, Hopkins, MN 55343.  (This is the old Foster’s, located above  
Mainstreet Bar & Grill).  Free!  8:00-11:00pm.  Ballroom, Latin, Swing, and maybe 
even a  country 2-step or two!  Come see the  newly remodeled studio with new 
Owner, Eliecer Ramirez-Vargas, and co-hosted by  James & Tricia Wood. 
Friday,  February 29th:  Havin’ a Ball singles dance to Trailer  Trash band 
at Fridley VFW.  Country  2-Step lesson at 7:30pm by Flory Katz, Dance 
8:30-12:30.  $12 per person. 
Friday,  February 29th:  U of M Ballroom Dance Club Leap Year  dance held at 
Cinema Ballroom.  Beginner & Intermediate Swing & Tango lessons at 8:00pm, 
Ballroom  and Latin variety dancing 9:00pm-12am.  $10 public or $6 students.

Friday,  February 29th:  TGIS Dance to The Classics (‘60s-’90s R  & R and R 
& B) band at Medina Ballroom, 8:30pm-12:30am, $9 per  person. 
Saturday,  March 1st:  Metro Variety Dance at Retro Ballroom of  On Your 
Toes.  Night Club 2-Step  lesson by Duayne Wincell & Cindy Quinn at 7:30pm.  Dance 
with DJ David Olson 8-11pm.  $7 per person.  (1st Saturday of every  month). 
Sunday,  March 2nd:  Lakeside Ballroom in Glenwood, MN from  4:00pm-8:00pm 
dancing to Velvet Brass Band playing 50’s & 60’s music.  $10 per person.  
Sponsored by the Lakeside Dance  Club. 
Sunday,  March 2nd:  Rebels Swing Dance Club’s west coast  swing dance at the 
Eagles Club (at 25th & 25th) in Minneapolis.  Lesson at 7:00pm.  Dance 
7:30-10:30pm.  $6 members, $10 nonmembers.  (1st & 3rd Sundays of every  month).

Construction  is done!  James & Tricia Wood  are now both teaching at the new 
ERV Dance Studio- 816 1/2 Mainstreet (above  Mainstreet Bar & Grill), 
Hopkins, MN 55343.  Private lessons and group classes are  available.  Schedule

(ages 8-18), a new Youth Ballroom group class starts this  Saturday, March 1st 
from 12:30-1:15pm.  Boys and Girls welcome with or without a partner.  
Instructors: James Wood, Tricia Wood,  and Eliecer Ramirez-Vargas.  $13 per  week 
tuition, no registration fee.  Register at the door!  ERV  Dance Studio will also 
offer Salsa group classes every weekday evening Mon-Thurs  at 7:30pm, and a 
variety group class (changing nightly) Mon-Thurs at  8:15pm.  All dance levels 
offered at  the same time.  Eight instructors  will be rotating throughout the 
weeks.  Salsa Sundays will be starting soon.  Lesson at 6pm, Dance at 7pm.
