Dances:
Wednesday, November 7th: Eat, drink, and dance at Casa Vieja (2176 W. 7th
St –at Snelling– in St. Paul), band plays a variety of music at 7:30,
danceable hardwood floor.
Friday, November 9th: Café Bailar (Ballroom & Latin variety) dance at The
Retro Ballroom of On Your Toes School of Dance (5810 W. 36th Street), St.
Louis Park, MN 55416. Lesson (cha-cha or rumba) by Janie Nordberg 7:30-8:30pm.
Dance with D.J. David Olson 8:30-midnight. $8/$10.
Friday, November 9th: Big Band (‘40s, ‘50s, swing) dance at the
Bloomington Knights of Columbus. $8, or less if you eat there first.
Friday, November 9th: Country dance at Withrow Ballroom by Rockie Lynne.
Friday, November 9th: Beyond Ballroom Dance Company annual Gala and
Benefit show, held at the University Club (340 Cedar Street downtown St. Paul),
7:00-11:00pm. Tickets include gourmet hors d’ oeuvres, dessert, silent and live
auction, and a preview of their 2008 show! www.beyondballroom.org. Some
choreography by Jean Marc Generaux from “So You Think You Can Dance.”
Proceeds of this event make their performance and educational outreach programs
possible. $50 per ticket.
Friday, November 9th: University of MN Ballroom Dance Club is hosting
their annual fall dance at Cinema Ballroom. All ages and levels are welcome.
Intermediate Tango and Swing lesson at 8:00pm, ballroom and Latin dance
9:00pm-12midnight. $10 public, $6 students.
Friday, November 9th: MN West Coast Swing Dance at B-Dale Club in
Roseville. Lesson by Joy Davina and Todd Paulus 7:30-8:30pm. Dance 8:30-12. $5/$8.
Donations for St. Joseph’s Home for Children encouraged, in cash or gift
cards.
Saturday, November 10th: Tango Society of MN is hosting their dance at
Retro Ballroom of On Your Toes (5810 W. 36th Street, St. Louis Park).
8:00pm-1:00am. *This is a temporary change from Foster’s due to Foster’s moving into
a new location in Chanhassen.
Saturday, November 10th: 3M Dance at the Polish American Club (1003 Arcade
St), St. Paul. 7:30pm Cha-Cha lesson by Duayne Wincell & Cindy Quinn.
8:30-12:00 Ballroom/Swing variety dance with DJ Loren Greenberg. $6 for 3M Dance
Club members, $9 nonmembers.
Sunday, November 11th: Salsa night with Charanga Tropical Band at Varsity
Theater (1308 4th Street SE, Mpls, next to Loring Pasta Bar), 9pm, $8 cover

Nov. 1st. Foster’s Dancesport Studio’s Fall Showcase, 7:30-11pm, $20

Saturday, November 17th: Havin’ a Ball singles dance at the VFW in
Bloomington. Lesson 7:30pm, Dancing with the Rockin’ Hollywoods swing/variety band
8:30-12:30. $12 per person.
Sunday, November 18th: Rebels Swing Dance Club’s west coast swing dance at
the Eagles Club (at 25th & 25th) in Minneapolis. Lesson at 7:15pm. Dance
7:40-10:30pm. $6 members, $10 nonmembers. (1st & 3rd Sundays of every
month).

Sunday, Nov. 11th from 1:00-3:00pm at 6009 Tracy Ave. in Edina (1/2 mile north of
Crosstown). All are welcome to shop! If you would like to sell items,

On Your Toes School of Dance (and Retro Ballroom) is putting on The
Nutcracker for its second year on Saturday, Dec. 8th, shows at 11:00 am and 2:00 pm.
The show will be held at Bloomington Olson Middle School. Ballroom couples
are needed for Viennese Waltz, Swing, Tango, and Rumba. There are two
groups rehearsing at the same time– Youth/Youth, Father-Daughter, Mother-Son
(lead by James Wood), as well as Adult-Adult couples (lead by Jeff Nehrbass).
There will only be 3 Saturday rehearsals starting this Sat. Nov. 10th from
10:00am-11:00am. The cost is $13 per rehearsal. Contact Tricia at

January 26—February 2nd, 2008, “Liberty of the Seas” dance cruise to the
Western Caribbean with the Dancers Studio of St. Paul. The cruise includes
lessons, workshops, dance parties, and games. Reserve now!
Foster’s Dancesport Studio in Hopkins, above Mainstreet Bar and Grill is not
renewing their lease on Nov. 1st. They are in the process of re-opening in
a Chanhassen location.

The Social Dance Studio, held at Uptown Wellness Center, formerly Anew
Fitness and Spa (2920 Bryant Ave S) Minneapolis has group classes in West Coast
Swing, Salsa, Cumbia, Foxtrot, Tango, and Lindy Hop.
