Wednesday,  October 31st:  Café  Bailar is hosting a Halloween Dance—
Masquerade Ball!  7:30-11:00pm.   Costumes encouraged.  Retro Ballroom of On Your Toes 
School of Dance (5810  W. 36th Street), St. Louis Park, MN 55416.  In Retro 
Ballroom, dancing  7:30-11:00pm.  In OYT ballroom, optional Salsa group lesson 
taught by James  Wood 7:30-8:30pm.  4 costume contest categories:  funniest, 
scariest,  most creative, & best couple.  Prizes include Caribou Coffee gift  
cards.  Free candy!  $10 or $8 members.  *We are also giving away  2 tickets to 
the Beyond Ballroom benefit gala held Fri. Nov. 9th! 
Friday,  November 1st:   Double Dancing, in both ballrooms for Retro Ballroom’
s monthly dance  party!  (1st Friday of every month).  Group lesson in Waltz 
taught by  World Int’l Standard Champions Stephen and Jennifer Hillier (in 
town from  Europe) 7:30-8:30pm.  Dancing 8:30-11:00pm.  $10 or $8 if you show a  
current dance club membership card, includes both lesson and dance. 
Friday,  November 1st:   Cheek to Cheek Ballroom Dance Studio (11415 Foley 
Blvd), Coon Rapids, group  lesson 7:30-8:30pm, dance party 8:30-10:30pm.  (Every 
Friday night).   $10, or $8 for dance only. 
Friday,  November 1st:   Dancers Studio (99 Snelling, St. Paul), dance party 
9-10:00pm, $15, with paid  lesson prior.  (Every Friday night). 
Friday,  November 1st:   Latin dance at Cinema Ballroom (Snelling Ave, St. 
Paul), sponsored by Social  Dance Studio.  (1st Friday of every month).  8pm 
lesson, dance  9pm-12am. 
Saturday,  November 3rd:   Metro Variety Dance at The Retro Ballroom of On 
Your Toes School of Dance (5810  W. 36th Street), St. Louis Park.  Tango lesson 
by Scott Anderson  7:30-8:00pm.  Dance with DJ: David Olson 8:00-11:00pm .  $7 
per  person. 
Saturday,  November 3rd:   Havin’ a Ball Singles dance at the VFW in Fridley, 
to the White Sidewalls  swing/variety band.  Lesson 7:30pm, Dance 8:30-12:30. 
 $12 per  person. 
Sunday,  November 4th:   Minnesota Ballroom and Latin Dancing Stars 
professional dance performance held  at Hopkins Center for the Arts (1111 Mainstreet, 
Hopkins) at 1:00pm.   Presented by Eliecer Ramirez-Vargas of ERV Dance Studio.  
Tickets are open  seating, $25, (612) 240-9053 or at the door.  This is a 
showcase featuring  professional ballroom and Latin dancers.   
Sunday,  November 4th:   Rebels Swing Dance Club’s west coast swing dance at 
the Eagles Club (at 25th  & 25th) in Minneapolis.  Lesson at 7:15pm by Lynette 
 Schwickerath.  Dance 7:40-10:30pm with DJ David Olson.  $6 members,  $10 
nonmembers.  (1st & 3rd Sundays of every month). 
Sunday,  November 4th:   Tricia Wood’s Birthday! 
Friday,  November 9th:  Café  Bailar (Ballroom & Latin variety) dance at The 
Retro Ballroom of On Your  Toes School of Dance (5810 W. 36th Street), St. 
Louis Park, MN 55416.   Lesson 7:30-8:30pm.  Dance with D.J. David Olson 
8:30-midnight.   $8/$10. 
Friday,  November 9th:  Big  Band (‘40s, ‘50s, swing) dance at the 
Bloomington Knights of Columbus.  $8,  or less if you eat there first. 
Friday,  November 9th:   Beyond Ballroom Dance Company annual Gala and 
Benefit show, held at the  University Club (340 Cedar Street downtown St. Paul), 
7:00-11:00pm.   Tickets include gourmet hors d’ oeuvres, dessert, silent and live 
auction, and a  preview of their 2008 show!  www.beyondballroom.org.  Some  
choreography by Jean Marc Generaux from “So You Think You Can Dance.”   
Proceeds of this event make their performance and educational outreach programs  
possible.  $50 per ticket. 
Friday,  November 9th:   University of MN Ballroom Dance Club is hosting 
their annual fall dance at  Cinema Ballroom.  All ages and levels are welcome.  
Intermediate Tango  and Swing lesson at 8:00pm, ballroom and Latin dance 
9:00pm-12midnight.   $10 public, $6 students. 
Saturday,  November 10th:   Tango Society of MN is hosting their dance at 
Retro Ballroom of On Your Toes  (5810 W. 36th Street, St. Louis Park).  
7:30pm-1:00am.  *This is a  temporary change from Foster’s due to Foster’s closing 
their Hopkins  location.
 
 
Special  Guest Coaches: 
Fri.  & Sat. Nov. 2nd & 3rd:   Stephen and Jennifer Hillier (World Int’l 
Standard Champions from London) at  Retro Ballroom (5810 W. 36th St, St. Louis 
Park).  They will teach the  group Waltz class before the Friday dance party, 
7:30pm.  On Saturday  (11/2/07)– Waltz at 12noon, Foxtrot at 1:00pm.  Private 
lessons available  too (952) 928-7803. 
Sat-Mon.  Nov. 10th-12th:   Maria Hansen is coaching at Classic Ballroom in 
Plymouth.  She was seen on  Championship Ballroom Dancing on PBS in the 
Standard division as a U.S. rep to  the Worlds!  Call Donna at (763) 519-1314 to 
schedule with  Maria. 
Mon.  Dec. 3rd:   Peter Minkov is coaching at the Dancers Studio in St. Paul. 
ANNOUNCEMENTS: 
January  26—February 2nd, 2008, “Liberty of the Seas” dance cruise to the 
Western  Caribbean with the Dancers Studio of St. Paul.  The cruise includes  
lessons, workshops, dance parties, and games.  Reserve now! 
Foster’s  Dancesport Studio in Hopkins, above Mainstreet Bar and Grill is not 
renewing  their lease on Nov. 1st.  They are in the process of re-opening in 
a  Chanhassen location.
