We were in Fairmont last week for our step-grandma's funeral, Edie  
Boergerhoff, Lynn's mom.
 
Tonight is FREE Salsa night at Retro Ballroom (5810 W. 36th Street), St.  
Louis Park.  Beginner Salsa 7:00pm, Int./Adv. Salsa 8:00pm, taught by James  Wood.
   
Friday,  October 5th:  Official “done with construction” Grand  Opening 
double-dance party at the Retro Ballroom and On Your Toes School of  Dance.  Phase 
III of III is  done!  Guest DJs: Pete &  Joyce.  Prizes and surprises!  
Foxtrot lesson by Jeff Nehrbass at  7:30pm.  Dancing 8:30-11:00pm.  FREE!  Hosted 
by Jeff, Tricia & James!  The two ballrooms are connected by two  large 9 foot 
glass French doors; You may go through them all night!  One ballroom will have 
a majority of  smooth dance music; the other will be a majority of rhythm 
dance music.  A sneak preview of some of the prizes  and surprises include: a 
one-year pass for group classes, 50% off a rental of a  private party, and to 
everyone who walks in the door- a $5 off group class or  private lesson coupon, 
and more!  Both the front door and back door will be open!  Parking available 
in both lots, side and  back. 
Friday,  October 5th:  MN West Coast Swing Dance at B-Dale Club  in 
Roseville.  Lesson by Bob Wood  7:30-8:30pm.  Dance 8:30-12.  $5/$8.  (Changed date due 
to supporting Rebels  Swing event the following weekend). 
Friday,  October 5th:  Dance with the Pros party at Foster’s  Dancesport 
Studio (816 1/2 Mainstreet), Hopkins.  Lesson at 8pm, Dancing until  10:30pm.  
Meet the new Pros that  have come from around the country to join Dancesport 
Ballroom.  Meet and dance with new people!  $5 per person. 
Friday,  October 5th:  Ballroom, Latin, Swing variety dance at  Blue Moon 
Ballroom in Rochester.  Lesson 7:30, Dance 8:00-11:00pm, $8/$6. 
Saturday,  October 6th:  Metro Variety Dance at The Retro  Ballroom of On 
Your Toes School of Dance (5810 W. 36th Street), St. Louis  Park.  Bolero lesson 
by Jeff  Nehrbass 7:30-8:00pm.  Dance with  DJ: David Olson 8:00-11:00pm .  $7 
 per person. 
Saturday,  October 6th:  Havin’ a Ball singles dance at the VFW  in 
Bloomington with City Lights swing/variety band.  Basic Cha-Cha I lesson by Esther  
7:30-8:30pm, Dance 8:30-12:30.  $12  per person. 
Saturday,  October 6th:  CABDA (Chinese Amer. Ballroom Dance  Assoc.) dance 
at Foster’s Dancesport Studio (816 1/2 Mainstreet), Hopkins.  Salsa lesson at

Mpls).  Lesson  by Loel Brandstrom 7:15pm, Dance with DJ Gail Zimmerman 
7:40-10:30pm.  Masquerade Ball/Swing Challenge tickets  for sale; Sign up for 
private lessons from the out of state  Pros. 
Friday,  October 12th:  Café Bailar (Ballroom & Latin  variety) dance at The 
Retro Ballroom of On Your Toes School of Dance (5810 W.  36th Street), St. 
Louis Park, MN 55416.  East Coast Swing lesson by Scott Anderson 7:30-8:30pm 
(this is the  rescheduled lesson from previous scheduling conflict).  Dance with 
D.J. David Olson  8:30-midnight.  $8/$10. 
Friday,  October 12th:   Latin Dance by DJ Julio Conde at  Blue Moon Ballroom 
in Rochester.  7:30pm-12am.  $10. 
Friday-Sunday,  Oct. 12-14th:  TC Rebels West Coast Swing Club hosts  their 
11th annual Swing Challenge and Masquerade Ball– competitions, workshops,  and 
social dancing all weekend.  Weekend pass $99, $109 after 9/30/07.  Guest Pros 
include Jordan Frisbee,  Tatiana Mollman, John Lindo, Mike Topal, and Benji 
Schwimmer.  Held at the Sheraton South,  Bloomington.  Hotel is $109/night  
through 9/21/07.  Volunteers needed,  contact Erica.Berg at verizonwireless.com.  
Saturday,  October 13th:  “Swingin’ Gala” CornerHouse gala  featuring David 
Andrew’s Big Band at the Golden Wings Museum, live music and  dancing starts 
at 8:00pm.  Anoka  Airport (8891 Airport Rd), Blaine.  Dance only tickets 
available at the door, $20 (include a $10 donation to  CornerHouse).  Cash bar.  
Business casual  attire. 
Saturday,  October 13th:  Ballroom, Latin, Swing variety dance at  Blue Moon 
Ballroom in Rochester.  Lesson 7:30, Dance 8:00-11:00pm, $8/$6. 
Saturday,  October 13th:  Dancing for Life cancer research benefit  at 
Medtronic in Fridley.  Event  starts at 6:30pm.  Semi-formal  attire.  Early bird 
rate by Oct. 1st  is $50, then $75.  Wine, hors  d‘oeuvres, entertainment,
