Dear Ms. Donnay,

 

My name is John Altum and I work for PAX - Program of Academic Exchange (www.pax.org) in New York.  I am working to find a good home for a high school exchange student, Cheyenne, who is hoping to study in Minneapolis in the coming year. She is welcome in several of the local high schools, but we are still struggling to find host families, and I am e-mailing your organization in hopes that you can help us with this urgent plea. She is a member of a dance club in her home country of Germany, studying both modern and traditional oriental dance, and we are hoping a family who shares her interest in dance will be willing to help.

 

I will be honest and tell you that we are in emergency mode and you may be our last hope. Cheyenne is arriving very soon and needs a host family. A family who isn't able to commit to a full school year can sign on as a "welcome family" and provide a place for her to land for a few weeks until we find a permanent placement in the area. She doesn't need her own room, just a bed, meals, and the loving guidance any teen needs. All PAX students bring their own spending money and have full health insurance.

 

I am hoping desperately that you, in your position as a teacher and a professional dancer, can put us in touch with a family that will find it in their hearts to open their home to this girl who has worked so hard to have the chance to come to America and learn what life here is all about.

Sharing this email with people who might be interested would be even better.
