Wednesday,  May 23rd:  ABCs  of Asthma-Auction, Blues, & Chocolate, 
6:30-11:30, walk fundraiser, silent  auction, chocolate buffet, live music at the 
Eagles Club: 2507 25th Street,  Mpls.  Free parking.  $20 suggested cover.  
Chocolate buffet,  lesson by Lois Donnay 10-11:30, door prizes, band: the Butanes

Friday,  May 25th:   Ballroom dance at Foster’s Dancesport Studio, Hopkins.  
(Every 4th  Friday).  8-11:30pm.  $8/$5.  Lesson at 8pm.  Ballroom and  Latin

Friday,  May 25th:   MNWCS Club dance at B-Dale Club (2100 N Dale St),

Saturday,  May 26th:  Café  Bailar Dance Club’s 1st ever ‘50s-’60s SOCK 
HOP-themed variety dance, held at  the Retro Ballroom of On Your Toes School of 
Dance (5810 W. 36th Street), St.  Louis Park, MN 55416.  Lindy Hop lesson by 
Stan Ponkin and Lisa Neuburger  (from the Tapestry) 7:30-8:30pm.  Dance with D.J. 
David Olson  8:30-midnight.  $8/$10. 
Saturday,  May 26th:   Alfalpha Males country band is playing at the 
Minneapolis Eagles Club (25th  & 25th).  Music starts at 8pm. 
Saturday,  May 26th:  It  sounds like there’s another Hangar Dance– David 
Andrew’s big band (mostly  swing), at Anoka Cty Airport in Blaine, 8pm-12am.

Saturday,  May 26th:   Ballroom DJ Mix– smooth, rhythm, swing, Latin music 
7:30pm-12:00am at the Blue  Moon Ballroom in Rochester.  $8 adults, $6 youth

Sunday,  May 27th:   Marty & Carla (big band, ‘50s, Fox Trot, Waltz, Polka, 
Latin) are playing in  the banquet hall at the Hopkins VFW from 2:00-4:30pm.  
Free.  No  smoking. 
Every  Sunday at Cinema  Ballroom: Ballroom Dancing to Jerry O’Hagan 
(w/Charmin Michelle)  Orchestra.  7-10pm.  $12 per person, or $8 with college ID. 
Every  Sunday at  Minnesota Music Café (MMC) at E 7th & lower Payne Ave, 
variety dancing  (Country 2-step, ECS, WCS, Cha-Cha, NC 2, Waltz) to Memphis and 
the Meantimes  local bands.  They sing danceable oldies and country.  $5 cover. 
  Music 7:30-10:30pm. 
Friday,  June 1st:  Prom  Night at The Retro Ballroom of On Your Toes (5810 
W. 36th Street), St. Louis  Park.  Waltz lesson by Jeff Nehrbass 7:30-8:30pm.  
Dance  8:30-11:00pm.  $10, or $8 if you show any current dance club membership 
 card.  Prom-wear  admired but not  required. 
Friday,  June 1st:   Madragora Tango Orchestra at Shakopee Ballroom.  Tango 
lesson  7:30-8:30pm.  Dancing 8:30-11:30pm. 
Fri,  June 1st & Sat, June 2nd:   Christine Rosholt and band are playing at 
Café Havana (119 Washington Ave N),  Mpls.  8:30-12, no cover. 
Every  Friday in June at  the Blue Moon Ballroom in Rochester– Latin Dance 
with DJ: Julio Conde from  Guatemala, 7:30pm-12am.  $10/$8. 
Saturday,  June 2nd:   Metro Variety Dance at The Retro Ballroom of On Your 
Toes School of Dance (5810  W. 36th Street), St. Louis Park.  Lesson 
7:30-8:00pm.  Dance with DJ:  David Olson 8:00-11:00pm .  (Enter in back using the new 
parking lot,  accessed on Yosemite from 36th Street).  $7 per person.

ANNOUNCEMENTS:
 
 
Monday  practice nights at Harmonies Dance Center have changed to Wednesdays 
starting  May 30th going through June 20th  7:00-10:00pm, $5 per person.  
There  is no practice night on Memorial Day, May 28th.  Scott Anderson will,  
however, have group classes on Memorial Day at Harmonies. 
Harmonies  Dance Center’s scheduled moving dates are Saturday June 23rd & 
Saturday,  June 30th, both at 12:00noon.  If you can help move, please email Bob
