I have the Star of the North ballroom dance competition Volunteer  Form if 
anyone is interested and available.  It is held President's  weekend (February), 
at Shakopee Ballroom.
 
 
Every  Monday night:  Salsa  dancing at Babalu Restaurant on Washington Ave, 
Mpls.  DJ: Eliecer Ramirez  Vargas of ERVentertainment.  9pm.  $5 cover. 
*New:   Every Sunday night:   Salsa dancing at Liola-La Bodega (Lyndale & 
Lake), 9pm, by Eliecer Ramirez  Vargas of ERVentertainment.  No cover charge 
before 10pm. 
*For those  curious, the whole strip mall that Harmonies Dance Center is in, 
(France &  Old Shakopee Rd), Bloomington will be torn down around the end of 
March.   (This was expected a long time ago).  No details have been announced 
for a  new location. 
Thursday,  January 18th:   Country night featuring Sisters & Co. from 
7:30-10pm, with a lesson at  7pm.  Blue Moon Ballroom in Rochester. 
Friday,  January 19th:  Gary  Narducci band is playing at Scoop’s Pub & Grill 
(482 114th Ave NW), Coon  Rapids. (763) 757-7600, 9pm. 
Friday,  January 19th:   Waltz lesson 8-8:30pm, Open dancing 8:30-10:30pm at 
Cheek to Cheek studio in  Coon Rapids, with Heidi’s new co-owner: Claudio 
Gilardi.  $8, or $5 studio  students.  (763) 755-3644.  Every Friday in January. 
Friday,  January 19th:   Ballroom variety dance by Sondra Chan 7-10:30pm at 
Lifetime Fitness in  Burnsville.  $10 includes lesson, dance, and beverages.  
3rd Friday of  the month. 
Saturday,  January 20th:   Dance Extravaganza at the Dance Shoppe in 
Plymouth.  4 studios with  different dancing in each one all night!  One admission 
covers unlimited  lessons, demos, and dancing.  7-11:00pm.  Dance clubs present 
include  USA-Dance, Café Bailar, and more! 
Saturday,  January 20th:   Variety dance by Bob Wood at Harmonies in 
Bloomington.  $7. 
Saturday,  January 20th:   Mandragora Argentine Tango Orchestra at the Eagles 
Club (25th & 25th in  Mpls), with Humanity fundraiser and silent auction.  
Lesson at 7pm.   Suggested donation $20. 
Saturday,  January 20th:   Riverside Ramblers Cajun dance at the Cedar 
Cultural Center, Mpls, (612)  338-2674.  Lesson 7:30pm.  $9/$7. 
Sunday,  January 21st:   Member Appreciation dance for the Rebels Swing Dance 
Club at Harmonies Dance  Center in Bloomington.  Current members are free. 
Friday,  January 26th:   MNWCS Club dance at B-Dale Club (2100 N Dale St), 
Roseville.  Lesson  7:30-8:30pm.  Dance with DJ: Loren Greenberg 8:30-midnight.  
 $5/$8.

country band is playing at the Red Fox Tavern  in Lakeville. 
Saturday,  January 27th:  Café  Bailar (Ballroom & Latin variety) dance at On 
Your Toes School of Dance  (5810 W. 36th Street), St. Louis Park, MN 55416.  
Lesson 7:30-8:30pm.   Dance with D.J. David Olson 8:30-midnight.  $8/members.  
 $10/nonmembers. 
Sunday,  January 28th:  MS  Fundraiser dance at Harmonies sponsored by Rebels 
Swing Club, Jason Barnes, and  Jen Paycyga (“50 Mile Walker”).  2-5:00pm.   
All you can eat  chocolate buffet.  Suggested donation: $20 per  person.
