at Harmonies Dance  Center, Bloomington.  1-1/2 hours of dancing by Brett & 
Melissa, and  Brett’s students, amateurs and pro-am Smooth, Standard, Rhythm, 
Latin, and  Theatre Arts, Showdance, and Cabaret couples’ routines.  Social 
dancing  too, so bring shoes.  Awards and door prizes will be given out.   7:

Saturday,  February 24th:  My  secret came out at the last Café Bailar dance: 
we have  now expanded the ballroom dance floor up to the front wall!   That’s 
my HUGE SURPRISE this night at CAFÉ BAILAR (Ballroom, Latin,  Swing variety) 
dance held at On Your Toes School of Dance (5810 W. 36th Street),  St. Louis 
Park, MN 55416.  ONE TIME SPECIAL: the lesson is by last year’s  World Smooth 
Dance Champion, Jeff Nehrbass, focusing on Waltz and Foxtrot,  7:30-8:30pm.  
(He doesn’t normally teach groups!)  Dance with D.J.  David Olson 8:30-midnight. 
 This is our MEMBERSHIP APPREICIATION dance  (free to all  current members 
and those who join tonight), and ELECTION NIGHT– members vote  for the Board of 
Directors of 2007-2008!  We are giving away two Café  Bailar dance shoe bags 
($20/ea) in a drawing, and you will physically see our  new surprise (bigger 
dance floor) on top of all of this!  Please join  us! 
ANNOUNCEMENTS: 
A new  country music weekend:  _Moondance Jammin’ Country_ 
(http://www.jammincountry.com/)  in Walker,  MN.  The line up includes: Deana Carter, Asleep at 
the Wheel, Danielle  Peck, Katrina Elam, Blue County, Terri Clark, Bomshel, 
Dierks Bentley, Randy  Travis, the Grascals, SheDaisy, Kenny Rogers, Big and 
Rich with Cowboy  Troy.  $60/$80/$100.  (I hyperlinked this to their  website). 
America’s  Ballroom Challenge is on PBS every Wednesday at 7pm for 5 weeks 
(Jan. 31-Feb.  28th).  On Feb. 14th, watch Jeff Nehrbass (last year’s World 
Smooth Dance  Pro/Am Champion and local owner of On Your Toes studio) at 7pm, 
dancing with  partner Adrienne Brown. 
Eliecer  Ramirez Vargas of ERV Entertainment & Salsa Caliente are no longer 
the DJs  or providing Latin and Salsa music at Babalu’s on Monday nights.  
Instead,  they are at Liola La Bodega at Lyndale & Lake St. closer to uptown in  
Minneapolis.  18+.  $5 cover gets you one free drink. 
As many  know, the owner of the Rush Nightclub (formerly “Rodeo”) in Cottage 
Grove, lives  in Denver.  The building is now up for lease, preferably to 
someone who  will keep it a nightclub.  The restrooms need upgrading.  The whole  
building including the sound system is for up for lease at $34,000 a  month.  
They are also looking for new management, but do not plan to close  it either 
way.
