in St. Paul (1898 Iglehart Ave). Ballroom and Latin variety plus free
lessons, snacks, and beverages. $7 or $12 for couples. Two blocks west of Fairview,
one block north of Marshall (near Dancers Studio).

Zimmerman from 7-10:30pm. Pajama-themed dance. Wear your funniest or
favorite pajamas and you could win a prize.

Competition, held at Shakopee Ballroom.

Saturday, February 24th: HUGE SURPRISE TONIGHT at CAFÉ BAILAR (Ballroom,
Latin, Swing variety) dance held at On Your Toes School of Dance (5810 W. 36th
Street), St. Louis Park, MN 55416. ONE TIME SPECIAL: the lesson is by last
year’s World Smooth Dance Champion, Jeff Nehrbass, focusing on Waltz and
Foxtrot, 7:30-8:30pm. (He doesn’t normally teach groups!) Dance with D.J. David
Olson 8:30-midnight. This is our MEMBERSHIP APPREICIATION dance (free to
all current members and those who join tonight), and ELECTION NIGHT– members
vote for the Board of Directors of 2007-2008! We are giving away two Café
Bailar dance shoe bags ($20/ea) in a drawing, and you will physically see a new
surprise on top of all of this! Please join us!
ANNOUNCEMENTS:
* For those curious, the whole strip mall that Harmonies Dance Center is in,
(France & Old Shakopee Rd), Bloomington will be torn down in April. (This
was expected a long time ago). Twin Cities Rebels Swing Dance Club has a
temporary location starting in April: The Minneapolis Eagles Club at 25th &
25th. There is a cash bar, non-smoking, and a fenced-in parking lot. Harmonies
Dance Center will continue to look for another location in the Bloomington
area. The last dance at Harmonies will be a West Coast Swing dance on Friday,
March 30th.
* A new country music weekend: _Moondance Jammin’ Country_
(http://www.jammincountry.com/) in Walker, MN. The line up includes: Deana Carter, Asleep
at the Wheel, Danielle Peck, Katrina Elam, Blue County, Terri Clark, Bomshel,
Dierks Bentley, Randy Travis, the Grascals, SheDaisy, Kenny Rogers, Big and
Rich with Cowboy Troy. $60/$80/$100. (I hyperlinked this to their website).
* America’s Ballroom Challenge is on PBS every Wednesday at 7pm for 5 weeks
(Jan. 31-Feb. 28th). On Feb. 14th, watch Jeff Nehrbass (last year’s World
Smooth Dance Champion and local owner of On Your Toes studio) at 7pm, dancing
with partner Adrienne Brown.
* Salsa Caliente Nights at Babalu Restaurant on Washington Ave on Mondays
has MOVED to Liola La Bodega at Lyndale and Lake Streets near Uptown every
Monday night instead, starting Monday, February 12th. Music by Eliecer Ramirez
Vargas of ERV Entertainment and Tico Baila.
