Jim Belzer, long time dancer/instructor (primarily country and West Coast swing) has undergone surgery for stomach and esophagus cancer. Part of each organ was removed. The doctors say that all the cancer was caught. His stomach has now been placed up close to his throat. June 20 he will have another surgery to dilate the opening further, so he can eat solid food.

The next surgery will be on one of his kidneys to remove a small tumor, and then he will receive chemotherapy. The prognosis looks good!!

He does have emphysema, and you may remember that he had a heart attack in 2001 and therefore, has been unable to dance.

THE GOOD NEWS: Jim stopped smoking three months ago and has regained better use of his lungs!

Jim says: "I do miss the dance scene as I spent so much time in it the last 15 years."

Greetings can be sent to Jim at jimbelzer1 at juno.com or 7021 Woodland Dr., Eden Prairie, MN 55346, 952-949-3016.
