MNWCS Member Appreciation Dance at B-Dale Club, Roseville. Lesson by Loren
Greenberg 7:30-8:30pm. Dance w/DJ: Loren Greenberg 8:30-midnight. $5/$8.
(Every 2nd and 4th Friday of the month). Members get in free tonight!
Brett Michael & Western Breeze at the Red Fox Tavern in Lakeville: First and
last weekends of the month, now through April 1st, 8:45pm-12:30am.

Saturday, January 28th, 2006:
Cafe Bailar Member Appreciation Dance! Foster's Dancesport Studio, Hopkins.
Bolero lesson by James Wood 7:30-8:30pm. Dance 8:30-midnight. Free for
all current Cafe Bailar Dance Club members, and those who renew or join
tonight. $10/nonmembers. (Board elections are also coming up! Let us know if
you'd like to run).
Rebel's Night Out- The Blues Kings are playing at Schuller's Tavern in
Golden Valley, just off Hwy 55 (Olson Memorial Hwy), between Hwy 100 & 169. 15x15
tile dance floor. No smoking. Mid-tempo blues WCS music. Band 9pm-1am.

Sunday, January 29th, 2006:
Some country dancers are planning a reunion from the old Sunday Night Family
Nights at Rodeo Nightclub in Cottage Grove, now "The Rush." Doors open
5:00, beginner line dance lesson at 6:00, intermediate line dance lesson 7:00.
Then, an evening of dancing!

Wednesday, Feb. 1st, 2006:
America's Ballroom Challenge, 7pm, channel 2 (TPT 2) Part 1 of a two-part
dance competition. 24 ballroom dance couples face off to find out who has
the grace, style, and talent to earn the title America's Best. Hosted by
actress Marilu Henner and Latin-dance champion Tony Meredith.

The Groove- this original dance venue features modern music, timeless moves,

Dance in St. Louis Park, Tuesday nights, $60 per person, can be paid at the

Come dance to the band Blue's Kings at Shakopee Ballroom. The Blues Kings
play great blues music for listening and dancing. Their music it perfect for
west and east coast swing, cha cha and hustle. DJ Bob Wood will be playing a
varity of dance music from 8:00 till the band starts at about 9:00 and during
the band breaks. Food will be available at Shakopee ballroom from 7:30 till
9:30, it is very good and priced reasonably. Come on out and dance to a fun
band on the 2,000 ft wood dance floor. Dates are Feb. 4th & 18th, March 18th &

2006 (9th annual) Star of the North Competition- Volunteer Information:
February 17-19.
Co-volunteer coordinators: Sharon Kennedy and Mike Jones. The competition
will be at the McNamara Alumni Center Memorial Hall at the University of
Minnesota. The volunteer shifts are as follows and the times can vary slightly
depending on how the competition is going:
-Friday Afternoon, 12pm-2pm, Floor Set-up.
-Friday Evening, 5:30pm-12am, Competition.
-Saturday Morning, 8am-1pm, Competition.
-Saturday Afternoon, 1:30pm-6pm, Competition.
-Saturday Evening, 7:30pm-12am, Comp./Floor Takedown.
