Cuban Casino-Style Salsa


Have you always wanted to learn how to salsa dance? Here is your chance, during a six-week class in the art studio of Gary Erickson. Gary has been salsa dancing for thirteen years and twice traveled to Cuba for art events and dancing. He and his dance partner will share the basic footwork, turns and unique styling of Cuban casino salsa as well as the basics in merengue, from the Dominican Republic. Salsa and merengue are the most common types of music you will hear in the dance clubs.

When: Thursdays, January 26, February 2, 9, 16, 23, March 2

Time: 7:30 - 9:00

Cost: $70 per person for the series

Where: Gary Erickson's art studio

3338 University Avenue SE, Studio #320

Art & Architecture Building, Prospect Park, Mpls

(For classes: Enter building off University Ave. through Cupcake coffee shop, use their back door to stairwell, up to the third floor and studio #320 - follow signs)

No partner is required but an even mix of leaders and followers is sought.

Twelve students minimum are needed to run the class.
