Appreciation Dance on  Sat. Jan. 28th, will be free for current Cafe Bailar

by Guest Instructor Carlos Garcia from Chicago  7:30-8:30pm.  Dance w/DJ: Loren

Come dance to the band Blue's Kings at Shakopee  Ballroom. The Blues Kings 
play great blues music for  listening and dancing. Their music it perfect for 
west and east coast  swing, cha cha and hustle. DJ Bob Wood will be playing a 
varity of dance music  from 8:00 till the band starts at about 9:00 and during 
the band breaks. Food  will be available at Shakopee ballroom from 7:30 till 
9:30, it is very  good and priced reasonably. Come on out and dance to a fun

2006 (9th annual) Star of the  North Competition- Volunteer Information: 
February  17-19.
Co-volunteer coordinators: Sharon Kennedy and Mike  Jones.  The competition 
will be at the McNamara Alumni Center Memorial Hall  at the University of 
Minnesota.  The volunteer shifts are as follows and  the times can vary slightly 
depending on how the competition is  going:
-Friday Afternoon, 12pm-2pm, Floor  Set-up. 
-Friday Evening, 5:30pm-12am,  Competition.
-Saturday Morning, 8am-1pm,  Competition. 
-Saturday Afternoon,  1:30pm-6pm, Competition.
-Saturday Evening,  7:30pm-12am, Comp./Floor Takedown.

Valentine's Dance: Jack Knife & the Sharps  (rockabilly band), 
8pm-12midnight. Doors and bar opens at 7:30pm.   $7/person.  1114 American Blvd W., 
Bloomington.  Directions: Hwy 494  to Lyndale Ave S., 1 block south on Lyndale, 3 
short blocks west on American  Blvd, to KC Hall.  Dress as your favorite record,

Club  Salsero- Every 1st Friday of the month: Latin Nightclub dancing 
including Salsa,  Bachatta, Rumba, and Merengue.

Ballroom Spin- Friday, Jan 13th (Every 2nd  Friday of the month): A mix of 
popular dance music.  Dance styles include  Ballroom, Latin, & Nightclub 
dancing.  This event has a good mix of  West Coast, Lindy, & Ballroom dancers.  $6 
General Admission and $4 for  College Students.  

Viennese Ball coming up on February 11th.   Live music by Christine Rosholt 
and the Cafe Accordion Orchestra.
