Happy Dancing, Dancers!
 
As you all know, I work fulltime at On Your Toes School of  Dance in St. 
Louis Park.  We have a very large kids program for  Performing Arts (tap, jazz, 
ballet, contemporary, hip hop,  modern, etc.), besides Ballroom.  Our studio has 
rented  space at Southdale Mall (France Ave in Edina, just south of Hwy  62), 
for "Kids Day" next Saturday, August  12th from 11am-4pm.  I need Ballroom  
dancers, specifically ones who dance regularly at Cafe  Bailar, to come dance 
in between the kids' costume changes and mini  lessons going on out there.  I 
would say sometime early afternoon, after  12noon.  I would like an RSVP.  No 
costumes  required.  You can bring a favorite dance song, but I will bring my  
Ballroom and Latin music too.  James and I will be teaching mini Youth  
Ballroom classes throughout the day, and another one of our teachers will be  doing 
Hip Hop.  This is to kick off our new Fall season for the kids  department, 
and take registrations, hand out schedules and brochures, etc.   So, if you are 
a ballroom/Latin dancer and would like to  be "on call" for the day, and dance 
with us at Southdale, please let me know  ASAP!  If you have other questions,

Friday,  August 4th:  Club  Salsero Salsa Dance at Cinema Ballroom, St. Paul. 
 Hosted by Joy  Davina.  Dance: salsa, meringue, bachata, cha-cha, samba, and 
 rumba. 
Friday,  August 4th:   Country Dance at Shakopee Ballroom.  Line dance lesson 
7:40-8pm.   Couples lesson 8-8:20pm.  Dance 8:20-midnight.  Hosted and DJ’d 
by  Elaine Boergerhoff and Bob Wood.  $6.  www.shakopeeballroom.com.  
Friday,  August 4th:   Ballroom dance at Cheek to Cheek dance studio, (11415 
Foley Blvd), Coon  Rapids.  Cha-Cha lesson first, from 8-8:30pm.  Dance  
8:30-10:30pm.  $8, or $5 studio students.  (763) 755-3644. 
Fri-Sat-Sun,  Aug. 4-6th:   Canadian Days in Little Canada, (35E and Little 
Canada Road, just north on  Centerville Road 1 block).  The Rockin’ Hollywoods 
are playing Friday from  7-11pm.  Our dancing friend and owner of Norm’s Tire 
Sales, Joy, is in  charge of the car show and a major sponsor.  Car show 
Saturday  12-5pm.  DJ “Car Tunes.”  Saturday night: Dweebs are playing.   Sunday, 
the Wombats (‘60s-’70s) playing from 3-5pm.  Questions, call Joy:  (651)

Saturday,  August 5th:   Metro Variety Dance at Harmonies Dance Center (Old 
Shakopee Rd & France  Ave), Bloomington.  Cha-Cha lesson by James Wood and 
Tricia Parker  7:30-8pm.  Dance with DJ: David Olson 8-11:00pm. 
Sat-Sun,  Aug. 5th-6th:   Tango dancers needed at Loring Park Art Fair Stage 
from 10am-11am Saturday, and  from 3-4pm on Sunday.
